What is a Foreclosure

Very simply, a foreclosure or REO (Banked Owned Property) is a home that has been taken away from the previous owner, usually for the owners inability to make mortgage payments.  The bank then has these homes in their posession and hire Asset Manager companies as well as local realtors in Montgomery County to help sell these foreclosed homes.

There are a lot of misconceptions about foreclosures.  Although you can usually get a good deal with negotiating with the bank, do not assume that you will be able to go and "steal" a home from the bank.
I have also noticed that many banks are now allowing realtors to do some needed repairs in the homes to make them more appealing to home buyers.
